Dubstack is designed so the free product can run without sending your viewing activity to us.

What stays on your device

Your settings, subtitle preferences, saved words, scene context, lookup caches, and local usage counters are stored in Chrome extension storage. Free-tier translations use browser capabilities when available.

What is sent for Premium AI

When a Premium user requests an AI lookup, Dubstack sends the selected word or phrase, the subtitle line around it, source and target language codes, and entitlement data needed to verify access. Our Worker forwards the text, not your payment email, to Anthropic to generate the answer.

Payments

Checkout and billing are handled by Stripe. Dubstack does not see or store card details. Stripe notifies our Worker when a subscription starts, changes, or ends so Premium access can be granted or revoked.

What we do not do

We do not sell data, show ads, run analytics trackers in the extension, collect browsing history, or use your data for unrelated features.

Deletion

Uninstalling the extension removes local extension data. To remove server-side entitlement records after cancellation, email hello@getdubstack.com.
